Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

GALLERY

A picture can speak a thousand words.

This Gallery of pictures is just one more way of showing the world the consequences of our failed waste management systems.

These displays show more biosolids dumped in forests and farmland; more toxic red goo, eagles spreading garbage (and disease) because CHRLF can’t control them, and failures in landfill systems.

Where a picture can speak a thousand words, a video can bring those words to life.

Evidence of fugitive gas escaping into the air is captured on video. But how do you see gas? Evidence such as bubbling water, billowing covers and handheld measuring devices show the evidence of these gases. Page down to see videos.

What happens when landfill gas wants out?

The video to the right shows the ballooning effect when landfill gas is looking for a way out.

Another example of ballooning.

The entire hillside cover is ballooned up with landfill gas trying to get out. The pressure from the gas was so great, it ruptured the cover lining.

Visual evidence of leakage

Not only can you see the gas bubbling out, you can measure it. Regulation allows for 500 ppm of fugitive gas, but clearly you can see it is above that.

Bubbling gas and stressed vegetation if more indication of leaking.

This measurement was taken from INSIDE the car at the top of the active area.
